We have a longstanding relation with St Cuthbert's Church and since 2023, we have reached to their Memory Café project which is with the Dementia group. An afternoon of workshops and performances

The festival will continue with celebration of dance featuring Aakash Odedra, Shambhavi Dandekar, ClimArts (Neelambaree Prasad & Kripa Iyer) and over 150 dancers from SBDC academy . Also presenting a ground-braking extract of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, through the lens of Kathak, accompanied by Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

The Journey of Kathak - An immersive experience
​
This unique event is curated with considerable research, love and respect for the extraordinary artform - Kathak.
​
The audience will be on a journey, from one floor to the others of Shishukunj, discovering the history and the evolution of the form through multi-sensory and truly immersive experience.
We will have one show; 3pm. This show will last for approximately 80 minutes. Audience, for each show, will enter in smaller groups for the specific booked time.
Please note the stairs are also part of our journey and story, chairs may be available but watching performances will mainly be standing. The lift will only be available for elderly and wheelchair users.

SBDC recognises the importance of upholding the integrity of classical styles, whilst exploring innovative ways to engage new and existing audiences. In Shishukunj (Edgware), audience groups, lead by dancers, storytellers and musicians, will be taken on a journey through the space, to experience the history and development of Kathak, from a storytelling temple art form to the grand royal era and on to the modern-day concert halls. Special thematic backdrop will be created by India-based guest artist Anup Giri, who will also run workshops for our volunteers. Sustainable materials will be used, and the backdrops designed to be easily dismantled and re-used.
